Have you seen the new Southern Vectis website?
The new site features improvements to help customers find their way around the island. These include new journey planning, live departure times, as well as an updated section for fares and information.
You can also bring up a map to find the closest bus stop to you – making it easier to catch the next bus to your destination. More information can be f0und by visiting islandbuses.info
The website relaunch follows the publication of the Southern Vectis summer timetable.
To make their printed timetables more sustainable, Southern Vectis will be providing timetable recycle bins across the Isle of Wight, to cut down on paper usage and waste.
Southern Vectis General Manager Richard Tyldsley explained: “With the development of a brand new Southern Vectis website hosting all timetables as downloadable PDF versions, fare info, travel alerts, a real-time tracker, and our Clickit2Ride mobile app – everything a customer needs to plan their bus journey can be found online.”
He continued: “With these new bins, we are encouraging customers to take one and put it back so that a limited number of timetables are printed and reused over and over. At the end of the season, we will ask for all old timetables to be returned to the bins so that they can be taken away and recycled. It’s the next step for us to make our timetables more sustainable.”
