The Local Directory - Isle of Wight

The Local Directory Magazine

Welcome to The Local Directory Magazine, a brand new idea launched on the Isle of Wight in January 2019.

About: The magazine was the brainchild of three local businessmen, Kai Davis, David Hayles and Dennis Jones. Together, they came up with the idea of supporting small businesses through affordable advertising. Although any local business can advertise in the magazine, if you are a small business (and we mean small business!), you will have priority.

What Is A Small Business?
As far as we are concerned, a small business is any sole trader who works either from home, an office, or a small shop. If you work off your kitchen table, your sofa or your spare bedroom just to make ends meet, then this is the magazine for you. Any small business will be able to afford to advertise in this magazine. We’re going to promote all the Isle of Wight businesses that we never ever hear about, or those we never even knew existed!

Think of us as your Isle of Wight “Yellow Pages” for local businesses.

In addition to the promotion of small businesses, the magazine will feature everything that is good about the Isle of Wight. All the special places on the Island you can visit, all the quirky, hidden Cafés you never knew about, the Island’s rich history, local recipes (with video!), savings and vouchers, plus we’ll promote your local events too!

Please let all your friends, family and customers know about us! We’re here to help keep the Island’s small business network growing, connected & thriving.

FAQs

Please see our frequently asked questions below; if you need to ask anything else, please don’t hesitate to contact us below or via social media.

The Local Directory magazine is a printed, colour magazine designed to encourage small businesses. It will be printed monthly and distributed at various locations around the Isle of Wight.

Advertising can be expensive. Our key ethos is to publish a magazine which not only features as many small businesses as possible, but also a magazine which is affordable for all. Anyone, from kitchen table startups to any business running from a spare bedroom or a sofa, will be able to advertise in our magazine.

This will not be a news-based publication; it will feature everything that is good about the Isle of Wight on a monthly basis.

Although we extend every courtesy and welcome businesses of all sizes to advertise in the magazine, priority will be given to smaller businesses and startups. However, there will be plenty of room for all.

Please email us on info@iowlocaldirectory.co.uk or telephone the office in opening hours on (01983) 528098. Alternatively, you can make an appointment to visit our offices at 2A St Thomas Square, Newport.
